Pertaining to faith in God…

1 Peter 1:8-9 "Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls."

Jesus speaking to Thomas said… John 20:29 "Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed."

Your lack of faith is what prevents you from believing. In Romans 1:20 it says…"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:"

Without faith, and relying on your "logic and reason" you’ll NEVER have a relationship with God. The sad part is that he loves you, and you’re fine with rejecting him. My prayers are with you, and those who are without God.

I LOVE joy Williams! She has an amazing voice. But I’ve seen that lately her music is not about God. And she looks different too. Is she still a christian singer? In one of her new songs, one of the lines say "There’s too many nights, we’re falling asleep with all of these doubts stuck in between us. Being polite is getting us nowhere". Just wondering. It seems like she doesn’t sing Christian music anymore….

I think a better promise would be to live God’s way, not just to give up something. The bible calls us to be in the world but not of the world. You can’t ignore the outside world completely or you will have no way of talking to non-Christians.

By the way, I have noticed that the second lines of each stanzas connect together…

Being a Native American and knowing other works by the author I am most impressed by the opinions of both Christie and Katherine.

Obvious metaphor winds this piece around the reader, and perhaps should be read more than once to gain some understanding, but I agree with both who I mentioned.

I see it as they do and as an analogous journey from within the author, and with little intent to give away the mystery of it she feels, but leaves it to us to interpret as it may personally relate.

Can and should laws be enacted to protect children from this horrendous abuse?

Well we already have laws that protect children from abuse, child abuse is certainly illegal, but I’m not aware of the specifics regarding what would happen if it’s believed that the abuse was encouraged from an outside source. If evidence can be found that the church they were associated with was promoting that, then the church should definitely face stiff penalties for promoting the abuse of children. "Religious freedom" only goes so far … religious groups should NOT have the right to promote material that encourages the abuse of children, or any other human being for that matter.

Isaiah 55
12 For you will go out with joy,
And be led forth with peace;
The mountains and the hills will break forth into shouts of joy before you.

I love the book of Isaiah, there are so many promises and prophecy’s. Promises of a Savior! This passage is just a small part of a promise. In order to understand, we need to back up a little. The NLT titles Is 55 as Invitation to the LORD’s Salvation, and the ASV titles it as The free offer of Mercy. This gives us insight on how important it is. Continuing on down to verses 6-7 we see what we must do in order to receive this promise. 6 Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near.7 Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously (NLT).
Verse 11 is a promise we cannot over look, because at times we cry out to God, why? And, this promise is one we can always keep in our hearts and minds, so when we do, we will know that the promise of Rom 8:28 applies to us. Then we can see and appreciate verse 12. For when we are in the hand of God, we will enjoy the joy and peace of the salvation God promises us, even when faced with trials and tribulation. We see the joy that even the mountains and trees have for the creator our Savior. And, experience that same joy and peace. It is also a reminder that, if even the trees and the mountains exult the Lord how much more should we? Blessings<><
